Location
The Phyllosphere 2022 conference was held on the beautiful campus of the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). Most activities were at or close to the UC Davis Conference Center. Use the interactive campus map to familiarize yourself with the area.

Arriving by air
Closest airport to UC Davis is Sacramento International Airport (SMF), about 22 miles away. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 85 miles away. Conference attendees will need to arrange their own transportation to and from campus. Rental cars, taxis, shuttles, app-based ride shares, and public transportation are available at both SMF and SFO.
Arriving by car
Parking permits were available to visitors in parking area kiosks at a daily rate of $10. Parking closest to the Conference Center is the Gateway Parking Structure.
- From Sacramento (I-80 west) or San Francisco (I-80 east)
Take Exit 71 (UC Davis)
Turn right onto Old Davis Road and drive past the information kiosk
At the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on Old Davis Road
Turn right onto Hilgard Lane
Turn left into the Gateway Parking Structure, park, pay, and continue on foot to the Conference Center
- From Southern California and Sacramento International Airport (I-5 north)
Take Highway 113 south toward Woodland
Take I-80 east toward Sacramento
Take Exit 71 (UC Davis)
Turn right onto Old Davis Road and drive past the information kiosk
At the traffic circle, continue straight to stay on Old Davis Road
Turn right onto Hilgard Lane
Turn left into the Gateway Parking Structure, park, pay, and continue on foot to the Conference Center
Accommodations
The city of Davis and its surrounding areas (Sacramento, Woodland, Dixon, Winters) offer many choices to stay during your visit, including hotels and Airbnb. On the conference registration site, information is shared about the availability of discounted rates on blocked rooms in the Hyatt Place hotel (on-campus) and about the option to stay in on-campus housing (for this, you were able to opt in or opt out during your registration for the conference).
